La Parisiene : Fayun Portrait
( : La Parisienne 2009):
This piece was made with driftwood and Decoupage. I was intrigued to recreate a copy of a woman in Roman ,Egyptian and maybe Christian style. I have many works like this in private collections around the world. I created this work in . I have been able to display my work in places like in Argentina, France, Canada, Spain and in the United States. This was created by merged historical lithography( copies) and driftwood.
(Virgin del nino de Sandro Bottichelli )
Some of my pieces are made with asphalt, glue, wood, and other media. This art is Arte Povera. ( Italian for art of poor people) which are mid evil and renaissance artists. I love this style because I select the pieces that intrigued me in this style. If I can not use driftwood I use a liquid to avoid termites. When I construct a piece it evolves around my emotion at the time. I can not create a piece if a lithograph has been overly replicated or repeated. Its one of my best characteristics of mine. I love to advance and create. My artistic style is in many forms. In the piece of Bottichelli I wanted to see what he saw and recreate and evolve the lithograph.
Another important thing for me is how the wood has aged . When looking for driftwood I look for a piece that has character and age. When I look at a piece of driftwood I want to see the journey of the wood, how it formed , and how through transition it aged. In a unconscious reflection of the Cuban immigrants who fled Cuba in the sea.
Russian Constructivism : Geometric Colors
( Geometric Colors 2012)
This piece was made of wood which was painted and shaped to size with acrylic. Each piece is a symbol of my emotion of the time. My original idea was to showcase the beauty of geometric shapes
by combining various colors . Emilio Nosta was my inspiration which intrigued me to create this series The majority of this pieces were displayed in an exhibition before in a Gallery of Design District of Miami
My inspiration to create Vertical White(2012) was to show repetition in colors. The white stands out to you indirectly while the red appears more present. This piece just stands out to you when you walking in a room.
"Sunset at Key West " 2012\
This work was also another part of my undisclosed series . The blue paint symbolizes the sky of Key West. This piece was made from wood, acrylic and automotive paint . I was impressed when I went to Key West and I was intrigued by it's sunset. This was the first time that I did a piece with automotive paint. I used sand paper to smooth the wood .
(The Pain of The City : Homage to Purvis Jones 2008)
This piece was created after I went to an exhibition of Purvis Jones in Boca Raton. After I saw his work it intrigued me to create something as magnificent as the pieces I saw. This piece was created with wood ,acrylic , and mixed media.
